Executives are tired of rolling the dice with traditional supply chains.


According to a survey conducted by Manufacturing Executive Research Services, 74 percent of manufacturing executives said their companies are moving away from transaction-based supply chains and toward a model in which the flow of supplies and products enhances customer and enterprise value. More than 28 percent of the 326 survey respondents said their companies are already well down the path toward value chain transformation—and another 45 percent are beginning the process.
