Almost three-quarters of manufacturing organizations want to transform their traditional supply chains into modern value chains, with more than 30 percent already well on their way to achieving this goal. The reason: they see transformation as a critical path to stimulate innovation, growth, and profitability in a difficult competitive environment challenged by rapid change and increasing complexity.
Those are some of the findings in an exclusive value chain transformation survey conducted recently by Manufacturing Executive research services and sponsored by Oracle.
The report says value chains go beyond the conventional definitions of supply chains. They enhance customer and enterprise value through business strategy alignment. And they facilitate tight collaboration by supply chain teams with a wide range of internal and external business stakeholders.
