A Critical Success Factor – What is a bridge person?

A recent independent study indicated that 93% of ERP implementations take longer than expected and 59% cost more than initially assumed.  A critical factor in a successful implementation is including people who can understand both the functional requirements (business needs) and technology solutions to these needs.

Every project requires both technical and functional resources. Because the perspectives of these two groups are so diverse, there is a critical need for a person who can move easily between these two worlds and keep them moving in unison – a “bridge”.  What makes a good bridge person?
