Previously, you had limited information available for a batch process which was actively processing. If a batch job runs longer than expected, there were not quick and accurate tools to analyze the situation or the potential results. The Batch Processing Features available in EnterpriseOne Tools 8.98 give you the tools you need to figure out what’s going on with your batch job.
You now can have:
- Audit Data –Details about how a batch job was submitted and how it completed.
- Dynamic Logging –The ability to turn detailed logging on and off while a batch job is processing.
- Introspection –The ability to display statistics regarding the state of a batch job while it is running.
These tools allow you to:
- Analyze performance and processing trends across a history of submitted reports
- Determine if a batch process is actively processing or is “hung up”
- View details about what an active batch process is currently doing Estimate if/when a batch process will reach completion
Tip: Introspection drives requirements to the Enterprise Server configuration: two new IPC resources will be created by each UBE, including Interconnects. So, if you run 100 UBEs by default on your server, EOne will require 200 more IPC resources. The maximum IPC resource allocation and ranges will almost certainly need to be tuned in your Server’s JDE.INI to allow for this!
Below are some screen shots to give you an idea of how this works in a real environment.
